On November 21, join the LymeX Diagnostics Prize at the Phase 3 Demo Day in New York City. The teams will showcase their proposed solutions to government and industry stakeholders, including clinician and consumer organizations. From translating diagnostics for sepsis to utilizing new genetic sequencing, Phase 3 teams are working on groundbreaking concepts with major implications for infectious disease testing more broadly.
The LymeX Diagnostics Prize is delighted to welcome the following speakers:
- Ben Nemser, Ph.D., Chief Program Officer, Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.
- Mary Beth Pfeiffer, Lyme disease patient advocate, and award-winning journalist, and author of “Lyme: The First Epidemic of Climate Change.”
- David Putrino, Ph.D., Director of Rehabilitation Innovation, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Space is limited, and advance registration is required. A networking reception will follow speakers’ remarks and Phase 3 teams’ presentations.
Phase 3 to award up to $2.1 million in prizes
Last week, each team submitted a concept paper that detailed how it has engaged FDA and implemented feedback received, as well as new or improved analytical performance data, final clinical performance study protocol, and progress it has achieved in planning and initiating its clinical performance study. During Phase 3, the teams had access to webinar modules, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help them plan clinical performance studies for validating their proposed solutions.
The competition judging panel — composed of experts across sectors such as biology, clinical and technology translation, patient experience and advocacy, diagnostic science and technology, innovation, and ethics — will evaluate eligible submissions according to official Phase 3 evaluation criteria. Based on this evaluation and judges’ recommendations, Phase 3 will award up to six prizes of $350,000 each.
The LymeX Diagnostics Prize is made possible thanks to a more than $10 million pledge from the Steven & Alexandra Cohen Foundation.
